"Svistoplyaska" (Maelstrom) is a collection of the author's compositions. Performed under the impression of traditional folk music with the songs in their original arrangement. The repertoire consists generally of two programs - Slavonic (Slavic) and European. But only the 12 best creations were selected from the Slavonic program for this album. 16 tracks in total including a 20 page booklet of beautiful artwork.
Rarog- I Know The God
The most religious cd in the Russian pagan metal scene. The lyrics are based on the “Book of Veles” – a sacred book of Russian heathens. Epic, hymn-like compositions with stylized like ancient melodies, classic orchestrations, black metal atmosphere, heavy metal guitars and some female vocals.
Svarga- Ogni Na Kurganah
12 tracks of pagan metal inspired by the more traditional metal bands. The bass and guitar parts are reminiscent of Iron Maiden with the addition of small thrash/ speed metal riffs. Despite the short length of the songs, the longest one clocking at six minutes, they often exhibit complex structures, tempo shifts or mood changes, most of time beginning in gentle fashion before the genuine metal kicks in. Occasional female vocals, amusing sound samples (a cuckoo, for instance) or fortunately punctual electronics complete the songs – and, of course, there is the accordion. Because accordions are not limited to drunken humppa metal a la Finntroll , and those who always thought in that way may change their minds with this album. This instrument isn’t relegated to the background here, but plays a role similar to the one of the guitars as either playing the rhythmic line or soloing. It is universally present even in the speed metal parts - where it would have sounded a tad displaced, however its wailing sound was exactly what the band needed to add a slight touch of melancholy to its music. Definitely a great inspiration.
